Living in the Consciousness of Being Christ’s Ambassadors

We have been called as Believers in Christ Jesus to be ambassadors of God’s kingdom here on earth, representing Him in a world that often does not know or understand Him. But what does it mean to be an ambassador of Christ, and how can we live in the consciousness of this role?

An ambassador is a representative of a country or government, sent to another country to promote the interests and policies of their home country. They are expected to be knowledgeable about the culture, customs, and laws of the host country, and to conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on their home country.
In the same way, as ambassadors of Christ, we are called to represent Him in the world, promoting His interests and way of life, and conducting ourselves in a way that reflects positively on Him.
In 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, the Bible teaches us that we are ambassadors of Christ, and that we have been given the ministry of reconciliation. We are called to represent Jesus Christ in the world, and to help others come to know and understand Him.
As ambassadors of Christ, we are also called to live in a way that is consistent with our role. This means being mindful of our words and actions, and ensuring that they reflect the culture of God’s kingdom which is established in God’s word.
So, how can we live in the consciousness of being Christ’s ambassadors? Here are some practical tips:
  • Commit to God’s Word: As ambassadors of Christ, we need to be knowledgeable about the governing principles of God’s kingdom, which is found in His word. This means commiting ourselves regularly to the studying of God’s word and meditating on it, and seeking to understand His will for our lives.

  • Commit to Praying Regularly: Prayer is an important part of our role as ambassadors of Christ. It helps us to stay connected to God, and to constantly seek His will, guidance and direction.

  • Witness to others: As ambassadors of Christ, we are called to share the Gospel with others, and to help them come to know and understand Him.

  • Live a holy life: As ambassadors of Christ, we are called to live in a way that is consistent with our role. This means being mindful of our words and actions, and ensuring that they reflect positive on our Lord Jesus Christ.
