The Battle for the Seed: How You Can Stop Satan from Stealing the Word

How You Can Stop Satan from Stealing the Word:

Everyone on earth is constantly engaged in a spiritual battle for the control of our minds, hearts, and lives. Man’s enemy, Satan, is always relentless in his pursuit to ensure that many do not come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The devil relentlessly pursues to also steal God’s word from us as believers anytime we receive it, so he could render it ineffective and unfruitful.

God’s Word is the incorruptible seed, and our hearts are the ground that fertilizes it.
1 Peter 1:23 – “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

Whenever we receive the truths of God’s word, faith is produced, and then we’re expected to quickly act on it so it can successfully produce fruit. We must always be prompt to receive God’s word ànd to act on it, without giving doubt, unbelief, fears, human reasoning or tradition any opportunity.

These five enemies of faith (Doubt, Unbelief, Fear, Human Reasoning & Human Tradition) often make God’s word unproductive in the life of a believer. Whenever you allow any of them find their way into your heart, they’ll choke and hinder the word you receive from producing fruit, making it of no effect.

Matthew 15:6 “…Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.”

It is the devil’s mission is to steal, kill and destroy. He often uses any of those five or others to steal God’s word from the heart of many. He tries to do that using various tactics you as a believer must never be ignorant of. So, when you begin to see traces of doubts, unbelief, fear, human reasoning or tradition around the word you already received in your heart, just know that it is the devil trying to steal God’s word from your heart. He’s trying to steal your revelation knowledge of who God’s word says you are and what God’s word says you have in Christ Jesus.

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being endured by your fellow believers throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:9.

You must become skillful in using God’s word to resist the devil steadfastly. You do this by constantly reinforcing your revelation knowledge of God’s word, speaking it out and acting promptly on it.

In Mark 4:15, we see in the parable Jesus told how Satan comes immediately to steal the word that was sown in the hearts of those who heard it. And whenever he succeeds in stealing the word, such a believer becomes unproductive because the seed has been taken out of the ground, unable to produce a fruit.

Also, in 2 Corinthians 12:1, 7-10, we see how Apostle Paul uncovered satan’s strategy to steal the word from him. Paul was given a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to buffet him and prevent him from being exalted above measure. Paul relized that satan was trying to steal the revelation knowledge that he had received, which would have given him authority over the enemy. But Paul stood firm, trusting in the power of God’s word and his promises, hence, he was able to stand and enforce his authority over the enemy.

How You Can Stop Satan from Stealing the Word from You:

1. Plant the seed in your heart not in your head: Give God’s word first place in your life, allowing it to be the final authority.

Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23 AMPC.

Your heart is the ground that grows the seed of the word. Whenever you truly receive God’s word in your heart, the devil will come after it. And if God’s word is not a priority in your life, your heart will be vulnerable to easily lose any word of God you receive.

Doubt, Fears, Unbelief, Human Reasoning, Human Tradition and other corruption in today’s world will easily become frequent visitors to your heart if God’s word is not a priority in your life. It is your responsibility as a believer to not only receive God’s word, but to dilligently protect it in your heart, water it with more word, so it can also produce fruit that leads to your spiritual growth process and the blessings thereof.

2. Always Water the seed : If you are not constantly Studying and Meditating on the Word of God, it’ll be stolen from your heart. Studying and Meditating on God’s word consistently allows God’s word to take root in your heart. This is how the word becomes the anchor and the fuel for your soul (Mind, Will & Emotion).

3. Hold fast to the Seed : There will always be challenging times where you’ll have to either hold fast to God’s Word and the confession of your faith, trusting in His power and promises to see you through or you let it go. Holding fast to God’s word is both a defensive and offensive fighting position from victory against whatever the devil keeps throwing at you. To keep wining, you must learn to always confess God’s word and insist on it tenaciously.

4. Produce fruit with the Seed : The end result of every seed is for it to produce fruit. When you learn and practice to always act promptly on the word of God, trusting in the power of God’s word and his promises, your life will always produce a bountiful harvest of fruits.

5. Keep Standing in Faith with Your Spiritual Armour on : Another way you can keep the devil away from stealing the word from you is by knowing his tactics, standing firm against his tactics and trusting in the armor of God to protect and empower you as you keep it on.

In Ephesians 6:10-17, we see the armor of God that is available to every believer. It includes:

– The belt of truth
– The breastplate of righteousness
– The shoes of the gospel of peace
– The shield of faith
– The helmet of salvation
– The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Friend, never let go of your spiritual armour. Put it on daily and regularly. The growing revelation knowledge of God’s word in your heart, mind, and mouth is your spiritual armour. The devil will keep coming at you here on earth as a believer till you relocate to heaven. And any moment you become slack or let go of your spiritual armour, you become vulnerable to the devil’s tactics or harm.

But, as long as you keep on the whole armor of God, not some, you will always remain empowered to stand against the devil’s tactics, steadfastly exercising your authority in Christ, winning every time under any circumstance and producing a great harvest of God’s blessings in your life. Hallelujah!

And now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified. Acts 20:32.
